It is impossible to educate the mind without involving the body.
Learning is thinking and movement integrated.

Smart Moves Learning Solutions for children and youth focus getting at the root causes of learning challenges, through movement. This is more than tutoring, it is a way to address the physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges that are interfering with learning academics. An infant first develops their awareness through their ability to move and experience their world through their senses. Then after developing language, cognitive skills begin to emerge. We consider these the building blocks of learning. When some of these physical, sensory, and cognitive functioning building blocks are not solid or fully functioning, learning can be more challenging and laborious.

We are providing an alternative to traditional tutoring by focusing first on the gaps in these building blocks, or underlying learning skills, to address the root cause of academic struggles.

Your child may struggle with:
  • academics

  • following directions

  • poor memory

  • attention, focus, sustained concentration

  • processing information that is heard

  • thinking and responding quickly

  • handwriting

  • self-regulation, stress, anxiety

  • executive function skills (i.e. time management, organization, impulsivity)

  • sensory needs (i.e. doesn’t’ like to get their hands dirty, personal boundaries)

  • physical coordination and playing sports
